East Ascension High School's Carson Harris, Sarah Wraight announced as valedictorian, salutatorian for 2024 graduating class

East Ascension High School valedictorian Carson Harris plans to study chemical engineering at LSU on a Flagship Scholars Resident Scholarship.

East Ascension High School in Gonzales announced Carson Harris as valedictorian and Sarah Wraight as salutatorian for the class of 2024.

Harris is the son of Kyle and Michelle Harris. He plans to study chemical engineering at LSU on a Flagship Scholars Resident Scholarship.

He has earned an AP Capstone Diploma and is acknowledged as an AP Scholar with Distinction.

In high school, he was a member of the National Honor Society, Allied Health, Senior Mentors, and French Club. He was also a member of the Beta Club and placed second in the French Competition at their state convention.

East Ascension High School salutatorian Sarah Wraight plans to study civil engineering with a concentration in water resources at the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

Wraight is the daughter of Aaron and Marie Wraight. She plans to study civil engineering with a concentration in water resources at the University of Louisiana Lafayette.

She has earned an AP Capstone Diploma and has qualified first place in the State Literary Rally for two years, earning the achievement in different events.

She recently won the Vision Award for upholding the Chic-Fil-A standards and hospitality at all times.

In high school, she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, and Senior Mentors.

She serves her community by volunteering at local festivals and serves as a library aid to the Ascension Parish library.

The school's graduation ceremony has been set for May 10.
