National School Public Relations Association names Ascension Parish's Jackie Tisdell a nominee for communicator of the year award

The National School Public Relations Association, representing more than 2,900 school communicators nationwide, announced the 2024 nominees for its school communicator of the year award, which included Jackie Tisdell of Ascension Parish.

The National School Public Relations Association announced Ascension Parish Schools Public Information Officer Jackie Tisdell as a 2024 nominee for the national school communicator of the year award.

A public information officer based in the Ascension Parish Public Schools main office in Donaldsonville, Tisdell was nominated by the Louisiana School Public Relations Association, according to a NSPRA news release.

A total of 27 NSPRA members were nominated by their state or regional chapter for the national award, per the announcement. All nominees were first selected by their chapter as its communicator of the year.

The winner of the award will be announced at the NSPRA 2024 National Seminar set for July 15 in Bellevue, Washington.

All nominees will be invited to be recognized on stage during the event's first general session.

The four finalists announced included Danielle Airy of the Peoria Unified School District in Phoenix, Jared Revlett of Owensboro Public Schools in Owensboro, Kentucky, Dirk Tedmon of Eden Prairie Schools in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Kelly Wachel of Park Hill School District in Kansas City.
