LSU baseball live score updates at Missouri: Is this when LSU wins an SEC series?

LSU baseball is currently riding a wave it hasn't been on in 50 years.

The Tigers (23-15, 3-12 SEC) have lost five straight SEC series to open SEC play, a downward spiral the baseball program hasn't seen since 1977.

LSU has been swept twice in the first five weekends of conference play at Arkansas and last weekend at No. 4 Tennessee. Jay Johnson's club was in every game against the Volunteers, but it still couldn't get that timely hit nor third out in a key inning.

Johnson's group must find a way to do those things at Missouri (17-21, 5-10 SEC) in what looks to be a pivotal three-game set at Taylor Stadium starting Friday night.

LSU won another midweek game, a 6-3 home victory over New Orleans, ahead of its trip to Columbia, Missouri. But the three midweeks win haven't translated to SEC series victories. With their back against the wall, with the possibility of not making the 12-team field for the league tournament late next month, the Tigers need to turn things around starting against Missouri.
